For months before Jovi's birthday, she was planning and making requests for what kind of food, decorations and presents she wanted. Jovi requested to have both cereal and pink donuts for her birthday breakfast, pizza for her birthday lunch, dark pink (NOT light pink!) balloons and mac and cheese at her party and a dark pink umbrella for her present.
Enjoying being sung to over pink donuts:
You may have realized that her decorations are obviously not dark pink as she requested. While at the store picking them out, Mommy liked and pointed out these, and believe it or not, they won out in the end!
When there is junk cereal AND donuts for breakfast, everyone is happy!
Opening her birthday card from Grandma and Grandpa (she got one from both sets and from Great Grandma Munns!):
Opening her present from Minnette, Aurelle and Waits (she was actually with them when they picked it out. She helped approve of it and was excited for days knowing that she was going to get to open it on her birthday):
Later that day at her official birthday party which included mac and cheese as she requested, along with some birthday cake and more presents:
And I do believe that this will be the beginning of a new Willman Family birthday cake tradition: white frosting and decorated crazy with candy. I think it would be a lot of fun to see how crazy we can get with each one. Plus it would be something that siblings can have fun helping out with. Not bad for a first attempt (and the girls loved it!):
The official cake and candles birthday song:
Jovi get her very own bike (since she can't ride Aurelle's, though it is the same size, because the seat is too high, and we'll be taking the training wheels off of Aurelle's this summer) and a new scooter. Perfect timing for a May birthday... she'll get to use them all summer!
Birthday Date:
We headed out earlier that morning for Jovi's third birthday pictures and our birthday lunch date, for which she requested pizza! I found a place right next to BYU campus called SLAB pizza which was seriously so. good. and very well priced. I have found a new date place for Kyle and me, for sure. Thanks for requesting pizza, little love, I had a lovely time on our date! :)
Jovi's birthday pictures:
She was so excited about her new Anna baby that she wanted to bring it with us for our date. It wasn't meant to become a picture prop, but those Target photographers sure do love giving my kids props! Anna baby made it into a few before Mama could bring it back to the sidelines :)
How cute is this picture, though??
Had to get a picture of her sweet panda shoes (Kid to Kid ftw!):
About Jovi at three years old:

BMI: 15.43 (39th %)
•Jovi doesn't usually like to look where she is walking or running. We like to say that she is our "dreamy one". She is either dreaming about something, or distracted by something in front of, to the side of, or behind her (Rather than the surface she is walking on or a wall or door that she is approaching) and she tends to fall down or crash into things a lot. And I mean a. lot. 10-20 big spills in one day is completely typical. She's pretty tough about it a lot of the time, but does require some love a fair amount. It is something that has become just so Jovi for us, but by the end of the day it can sure be exhausting!
• Jovi is so good at communicating. She talks better than any other kids we know her age and uses very long and complete sentences. She can be such a talker!
•Jovi is still the messiest eater I have ever seen! We have a rule that Jovi is not allowed to eat without wearing a bib, and being the sweet, dreamy Jovi that she is, this means we ask her every single time we sit up to eat: "Jovi, what to you need to have on before you eat?", and she then remembers to hop down and grab a bib. Though, the bib rarely does any real good up against an eater such as Jovi. She still often manages to walk away from the table with food on her forehead, in her hair, on her shirt (somehow under the bib, of course), and usually she was sitting in some of it, too! I don't even know how she does it- it really is impressive! Our next girl will need a completely new wardrobe after Jovi's had a go in it! There is rarely an outfit not completely stained after a matter of weeks.
•Jovi is such a generally happy and content girl. She rarely gets very upset. She is very much a go-with-the-flow kind of girl and likes to do pretty much anything, or whatever it is her sisters are doing, unless we are outside, when she loves to play very independently.
•Jovi is developing such a fun relationship with her little brother, Waits. They love to make each other laugh -and they have the same laugh! Which couldn't make me happier considering...
•Jovi has the best laugh in the entire world. You can not not laugh smile when you hear it.
•Jovi loves the color pink. If you couldn't tell just based on her birthday requests, she also loves to get into to detailed stories/make believe scenarios where her and her pink babies, go for a walk in a pink stroller and a pink umbrella, and then get into their pink van and go to the pink park with their pink dog and drink pink water.
Jovi is such a ball of light in our lives. You can not make it through a day with Jovi without laughing and also feeling completely exhausted! We are learning from her every single day how to be better parents, and are so grateful for the love and joy she brings into our family and home!
We love you Jovi! Happy Birthday!
