St. Patrick's Day 2013

St. Patrick's Day fell on a Sunday this year, so in order to not distract too much from the Sabbath we decided to hold our celebrations on Saturday instead. Our St. Patrick's Day celebrations this year were kicked off with "pots of gold" for the kiddos and a very coughtraditional Irish breakfast: Lucky Charms!

Then we got the girls all dressed-up in their LUCKY green attire

and face painted LUCKY rainbows on their faces

And each received a rainbow pedicure

This, here, was my attempt at a shamrock hairdo. I think her hair may not have been quite long enough to pull off exactly what I was planning for it to look like (a little more like this), but you get the idea!

Then we had green smoothies and avocado toast for lunch. Avocado toast? Yep. I know it probably sounds strange, but our girls LOVE it. A little avocado spread on top with salt and pepper- so good!

And to top it all off and end it right, our tradition of Irish lamb stew for dinner (Kyle's favorite part of celebrating the holiday):

Happy St. Patrick's Day! And may you see all of your "good luck" for what it really is: Blessings from a Heavenly Father who loves you!
