I've seen the idea of making reusable play dough mats floating around on pinterest for the last couple of years, and I have been wanting to make some for a while now. I find there are times that I occasionally find the motivation to actually accomplish one of the 7000+ (no joke) pins I have waiting, though this one didn't take much since all that was needed was card stock, printer ink and a laminator, and seriously, took about half an hour from start to finish.
I searched pinterest and Google images for play dough mat ideas and printed off only my favorites, which still ended up being over 30 pages, but hey, I'm hoping for these to last a loooong time and to help provide hours and hours of fun and creativity for my kids!

My girls love playing with them, and these mats inspire so much creativity that they didn't previously have while playing with play dough. And play dough time now lasts so much longer, which is a nice bonus! :)
We keep these in our "play dough bucket" along with our play dough, play dough tools and about 100 different shaped cookie cutters. I find this to be a great activity for the girls to do right at the kitchen table while I'm making dinner.
This time around, Kyle was making dinner (lucky me!), so I was able to sit and play alongside the girls while they played.

The girls used to only ask to play with play dough maybe once a month, and now it is asked on nearly a daily basis. This was such a simple project for me to accomplish, that turned out to be a huge success, and has definitely given me the motivation to accomplish a few more!!
