Good Morning, Sunshine!

Who on earth needs coffee in the morning when they have this little ray of sunshine (and the craziness that is Minnette's hair) to wake up to??

I can't help but crack up every time I look at these pictures! Man, I love her guts!

Less than 100 days

I have only 99 days until baby Aurelle's due date!! Woo Hoo!! So close, yet so far...

I don't recommend...

...being 6 months pregnant and watching a TV show about a 16 year old girl giving up her baby for adoption...

...unless you wanna cry your hormonal little eyes out like I did!

Digging

She pulled out all of her diapers and blankets all by herself... one of her new favorite hobbies... DIGGING!!

Caught red-handed...

...and proud of it!

Baby Blue Steel

She's really really ridiculously good looking!

24 weeks...

... and growing!

•Baby Aurelle is getting so big and so strong. We can feel her not only kicking, but moving and rolling around constantly.

•I can now say that she is definitely much more active than Minnette was!

•I feel GREAT and haven't even felt nauseous for over two and a half months!

•I LOVE that I have a ton of clothes that I bought before I was pregnant (before I was even married...) that double as maternity shirts just because of what was in style at the time! (for example: shirt pictured above)
•November is starting to feel closer and closer. Which is good, because I have a tendency to get impatient to actually HOLD our new baby! But I have the coming of a niece in August AND a nephew in September to help me pass the time!

•It's nice the second time around to feel completely prepared for bringing our new baby home. (Not that I feel completely prepared to be the mother of not ONE, but now TWO children... is anyone ever completely prepared for that?? -I'm referring to having all of the baby gear that we could ever possibly need!)

•Oh yes, and we are all set in the accessory department, as well!

Ultrasound pictures of baby Aurelle at 18 weeks:

I can already tell that little Aurelle looks just like her big sister (just by comparing the ultrasound glamour shots), and I am going to absolutely love, love, love having a couple of little twinners running around!

She just can't get enough of this guy...

Yet another kodak moment with the infamous Mr. Froggy. Seriously, she loves this guy.

How cute is that little girl?? Even in her sleep she has us smitten. I think I'm gonna have to have a serious talk with that Mr. Froggy...

What can I say?? She loves that Mr. Froggy!

In case you are wondering, she is ASLEEP in this picture! (And poor Mr. Froggy is being completely SMOTHERED!!)

My First...

Last night I was invited by my sister to attend her ward's monthly card swap that she was hosting at her house. I have never been to a card swap before, and so Jenn offered to have me come over early so she could help me make my cards.
With her creative input I was able to to develope this little beaut:

And I came home with this new plethora of hand made cards:

So, I now have a new talent. And Jenn, you may have just created a new card-making monster!

Bargain Shopping

When we found out that we were having a girl while I was pregnant with Minnette, we got an entire girl's wardrobe from a woman my dad worked with, who had a 5 year old daughter and had saved EVERYTHING from newborn to 5T sizes. Her daughter was born the same time of year as Minnette, so it was the perfect deal.... Until Minnette turned out to be ginormous! (Ginourm in the cutest way possible :))
Around 9 1/2 to 10 months Minnette was already outgrowing her 12 month clothes and we had to start moving her up to the next size early. As I pull out the boxes we have for her 18 month sized clothes, all I could find were turtleneck longsleeve onesies and hooded sweatsuits! IN JULY??? Yikes! This wardrobe would have been perfect if Minnette, like the girl we got the clothes from, had stayed in her 12 month wardrobe until October, and moved to the next size in November. So, needless to say, we had to do some clothes shopping! And I am so proud of myself for spending less than $45 on 12 outfits and a pair of shoes!
Pink and Green striped Tee: $2.50 (Target)
Pink Shorts: $1.00 (Target)
Yellow Peasant Top: $2.99 (Other Mothers-the most expensive item I bought!)
Pink Skort: $1.50 (Other Mothers)
Purple/Green Plaid Top: $2.00 (Other Mothers)
Khaki Shorts: $0.99 (Other Mothers)
I can't understand why some people find it necessary to spend $50 on a pair of pants for a baby! I wouldn't even spend that much money on a pair of jeans for ME... let alone an item of clothing that will be worn for a max of 3-6 months and will probably get ruined in the mean time! My mother in law works at Carter's and says that it's really common to see the same Mother come in every couple of months and drop like $300-$500 each time on baby clothes! Sorry, we have better things to spend our money on... like BILLS!

Our little bookworm!

Minnette's favorite toys are actually her books. She can sit and flip through the pages of one of her picture books for at least half an hour! Sometimes I will sit down with her and read a book with her, or sit and point out the pictures which she wants nothing to do with! She wants to turn the pages all by herself! Her favorite book is one filled with pictures of puppies and kittens that have patches of fur for her to feel... sometimes she even tries to lick them! (no luck getting that on camera, though!)

Oh, and if you noticed how Minnette was growling through half the video, that is just one of her new "things"... which I think is hilarious. When she does it, she reminds me of a little baby gollum! (A baby gollum with style!)
