Minnette

She is not a baby anymore! I still realize this on a daily basis... over and over again... and it makes me so sad that she is growing up so fast! Looking at her, it is hard to believe that she is the same baby I had only a year and a half ago! She is learning so many new things every single day and has such a sweet and fun personality. I love that she wants to make us happy, she really wants to do everything right... you can see it on her face and it is just so precious. She is an awesome big sister, and Aurelle already loves her to death. Aurelle thinks that anything iInnette is doing is amazing... even if what Minnette is doing involves inflicting physical pain on on Aurelle (like trying to lay on top of her), Aurelle still thinks that it is absolutely amazing!

Trips to Sportsman's are a regular daddy/daughter date for these two. Kyle gets to look at manly outdoors stuff and Minnette loves all the animals... I just wonder how long it will stay that way!! :)

Some of Minnette's favorite things:

•Dogs- previously known as "fuff fuff's", she absolutley loves them. Lucky for her we have two of them at our house and they have a love'hate relationship with her. They are constantly running away from her "loves" which often invlove eye-poking and tail-pulling but hover around meal and snack times because Minnette LOVES to share her food with the dogs!

•Bath time- as soon as she's done eating her dinner and we ask her if she wants to get down she will only answer with "BAAAA!!..... BAAA!!" which in Minnette language means she wants to take a bath. She loves throwing water color changing tablets into the water, turning on her bubble machine and- believe it or not- she LOVES brushing her teeth! (I think she just likes eating the toothpaste :) )

•Outside- she loves to go ouside with Kyle and walk around the neighborhood, pick up rocks (and lick them!!), see dogs being walked, and her newest excitement/obsession: birds!

•Daddy- this girl LOOOOOVES her daddy! When Kyle is at work she will ask for him at 5 minute intervals the entire day. If she hears something upstairs (usually the dogs or grandma) she points and say "da?", and it is so sad to have to tell her that it is not daddy and that daddy is at work :(

This was about a month ago and she has since moved on... she has now discoverd her hands and watches them intently!

I'll give you one guess why Minnette's left leg looks so deformed...

Yup! That's her DIAPER! I just want to know how she managed that one!

Things like this have been happening more and more often lately, so, needless to say, we have seen more and more of this:

I think this is my sign that Minnette needs to potty train! ;)

Aurelle and friends

Meet Aurelle's tummy-time support group!

We are pleased to announce...

... that Kyle just recieved his acceptance to BYU Provo for Fall semester 2010!

Which means we will be packing up and moving to Provo sometime around August. We are so proud of Kyle and all of his hard work up to this point! We are extremely excited to start this new chapter in our lives, (the one where we have our own place!) and so grateful for this amazing opportunity for Kyle and our family.

4 months... already!!

Yeesh. You hear other moms saying all the time that their babies grow up way too fast, and it is so true. You just can't understnad it until you experience the blink of an eye that turns your newborn into a toddler (please don't let the next 17 years go by this fast!!), but what's even crazier, as impossible as it would seem, is how much faster it goes with the second baby! Aurelle, how on earth can you be 4 months old already?? It's not that I am in denial or anything, it is just simply not possible.

•At her 4 month check up, Aurelle weighed just over 13 pounds as is in the 44th percentile and was 24 1/2 inches tall... still our dainty and LONG little girl!

•She still does not sleep through the night. For a while she would sleep 6-7 hours straight, and wake up once early morning and again right before I got up for the day, but due to recent teething and now a cold (she's so congested...poor baby) she is back to waking up every 2-3 hours, mostly because she is just so uncomfortable, the poor little thing. :(

•Aurelle is definitely a major mommy's girl, and anyone who has witnessed someone other than me attempting to hold her knows exactly to what extent I am talking about here! But these last few days we have had a breakthrough! She will now let not only Kyle, but also my mom hold her for extended periods of time (and even give them a little smile, too), so now I can cook dinner, or actually sit and play with Minnette, which I don't get to do as much as I used to.

•She is, as the doctor said, "growing like a weed" and chunking up and becoming oh, so irresistably pinchable! Breastfeeding is going flawlessly this time around, which is a HUGE accomplishment for me since with Minnette, due to complications, nursing didn't last past 6 weeks... and so far with Aurelle: 4 months down and not a single drop of formula!

•She drools like crazy, and will soaks through the front of her onesie in minutes.

•She LOVES to chew and suck on her thumb and fingers, and sometimes manages to get her entire fist in her mouth!

•Her eyes are still BLUE, and were thinking they might be keepers!

•She is such a smiler, has the funniest laugh and coos all the time

•She loves absolutely everything about her big sister... she watches everything Minnette does with deep interest, gives her smiles and either cries or starts saying "Ooh!" in a concerned way whenever Minnette cries... they are going to be such best buds! Just hang on a few more months, Minnette!

Aurelle is just getting cuter and more fun every single day, and we just love her so much!

These TWO

A little documented love between two little cousins. These two are not usually this silly and crazy... it must have been all that Christmas spirit makin them all crazy like (Yea, I said Christmas, this video is a little old... especially considering that two months is a long time in toddler years!)

We love it when Parker comes over to play! (And I love it when Jenn comes over! Too bad they have to live all the way out in Suprise... boo hoo.) These two might be the only two toddlers that are actually EASIER when they are together!
