Back in June, our sister Ashley and her two little boys came and stayed with us for a week, and while they were here, we made a day trip to a nearby pond to go fishing!
We started it all out with a little picnic... the babies' favorite part, for sure!
Canon didn't even see it coming...

Then the kids had fun playing on the playground:
This particular pond is super kid and family friendly. It has an awesome playground, fenced-in piers with benches and it even has a sand beach! The cousins had a toon of fun playing at the edge of the pond with their sand and water toys:
...Or just chewing on sippy cups (Don't you love that hat??):
A little later, Kyle took the older kids for a little fishing and let them help cast and reel:
And then they learned to sit and wait.
Patiently waiting...
And all that patient waiting finally paid off when they actually caught a fish!

Minnette did not want to get anywhere near the fish to take a picture... here she is, instead, watching it from a safe distance:
We are definitely a catch-and-release kind of family... especially when it comes to catfish- ew! So, here Kyle is pulling out the hook in order to set the little fishy free:

That looks so fun! Where is this pond at? The fist almost looks like a catfish! I am really excited for Christmas but I am really missing summer!
