Halloween 2010

For our Family Home Evening before Halloween, we coninued our Willman Family pumpkin craving tradition. It was a lot of fun to have Minnette as a almost-full participant this year... holidays are so much better through the eyes of your children.

First, we let Minnette pick out our pumpkin at the store, and as you'll see in the pictures she very specifically wanted the green one!

Then, we let her draw our "design" on the pumpkin:

Then Daddy cut off the top:

And took out the ooey-gooey insides, which Minnette wanted nothing to do with!

While she helped by stabbing holes in the pumpkin:

Here's a pretty sweet video of Minnette's pumpkin carving skills... she can get a little crazy with that pumpkin carver!

And then Kyle used Minnette's drawing to cut out our pumpkin design:

I don't think we'd win any pumpkin carving contest with our pumpkin, but it was so cute to watch Minnette help out and then be so proud of her work!

Since Halloween was on a sunday, we weren't able to take the girls out trick-or-treating. but our ward had a Halloween party on Saturday night that we were able to go to, so we had an excuse to dress the girls up!

Minnette was Raggedy Anne (thanks mom, for letting us borrow the costume, by the way!) My mom actually has pictures of me waering this costume at the same age, so I thought that was really neat... and look at that cute face!

Mission: failed.

Our girls were so cute dressed up in their Halloween costumes. Next year my Halloween goals include coming up with a family costume theme, making and assembling cotumes as necessary, and DECORATIONS!! (Which we unfortunately never got around to this year... I know- lame.)
