Our little Rellers turned one year old on the 24th and we had a small party for her and Kyle's sister, Raquel, as well as our awesome next-door neighbprs joined us for Aurelle's birthday celebration! Thanks so much for hanging out with us, guys!
We decided to surprise Aurelle first thing in the morning by singing "Happy Birthday" to her when she woke up... I pictured it going a little differently in my head:

Some new toys and a new book... good stuff!
Aurelle had three assistants helping her blow out her birthday candle... we definitely got it on the first try!
She has something to say about this:
This lucky girl got not only one, but two special packages to open up on her birthday... Granma and Grandpa Willman sent up some cute, cute winter clothes to help keep this little baber warm!

By the time we got to cake and presents, it was a little late for little Aurelle (especially since she hadn't even taken a nap!) and she was a little unsure of what was happening:

By this time she was sooo tired and sooo not interested in pigging out on cake, the poor thing was getting pretty upset about that cupcake!
So sad...
The Mitchell girls picked out these present for Aurelle all by themselves!

We went in for her one year well check on the 25th and have some updated stats on Aurelle's growth:
Weight: 18 lbs. 12 oz. - 14.96%
Height: 30 1/2 in. - 86.53%
Head: 17.8 in. - 56.25%
She is as tall and skinny as ever, and no we will not be able to put her into a front-facing carseat yet, since she has yet to hit the 20 lb. mark! Maybe in a month or two!
A Few Miscellaneous Aurelle Facts:
•She started walking one week before she turned one, and now she is walking all over the place!
•she has 7 teeth, including one molar she just got in this week... and I am so completely IN LOVE with her jack-o-lantern smile these days!
•Aurelle is such a book worm, she will sit and flip through books for 20 minutes or more at a time
•She loves to DANCE and CLAP
•She likes to pull Minnette's hair... constantly!
•She has a somewhat major obsession with Mommy's jewelry
•She loves to drink the bathtub water
•One of her favorite things is to stick her fingers right in your mouth!
•Pickles are her favorite food... although, apples are bringing up a close second these days!
•She is such a HAPPY girl and she smiles and laughs constantly
•loves to dig
•Races to the fridge every time I open it and will start crying as soon as I shut the door
•Thinks she's as big as a grwn up and gets UPSET when she can't reach things like door knobs, drawers, or things sitting on the computer desk
•Loves to play on the porch with Minnette
•She folds her arms during prayers (sooo cute! See video below.)
Aurelle, you light up our lives! We are so grateful to have you in our family, and we have just LOVED every second of having you areound for the last year! You are one amazing little girl and we love you so much... Happy birthday, Rellers!

Yay! Happy Birthday Aurelle! It looks like it was a fun (but long- for her) day! :) I totally know how you feel with the forward facing carseat situation. Lily just BARELY got one this month. She is like 2 ounces under 20 pounds but she is almost 17 months. She was SO ready for the switch!
